How can I safely put glue traps around a dog door?

I’ve had a couple scorpions lately, and I suspect they may be getting in through the dog door. I’m thinking about putting glue traps around the door on the inside, attached to the wall. My concern is of course the dogs sticking their noses in it.

How would you suggest making the traps safe so the dogs can’t touch the glue, but still good enough to catch any scorpion coming in?

If I tent the traps rather than leaving them flat, I still worry the dogs will get in there, either licking the inside or biting through the paper. I’m thinking some kind of screen maybe, but I can’t think of anything good.
